A self-taught artist, Karen specialises in modern and abstract art taking inspiration from a variety of figures and genres. Artists such as Picasso, Miro and Matisse have played an influential role in finding her own style and form of expression.

Having grown up in South Africa, her work often demonstrates hidden traces of cultural influences from lively colours, dark outlines and tribal configurations.

Art has always been a passion for Karen since she was little, having started selling her art at the age of nine. She has continued her love for art and developed a style true to her own ever since.

Painting with acrylics on large canvases is a favourite, using thick brush strokes, simple outlines and an array of bright colours.
